What you'll do

In this lab, you will implement and manage lifecycle rules for a Cloud Storage bucket.

  1. Create a new storage bucket with versioning enabled
  2. Upload sample files to the bucket, then configure lifecycle rules to delete old versions after a set number of days
  3. Add an additional rule to transition objects to Coldline storage based on age
  4. Then verify that the lifecycle policies are correctly applied using the Cloud Console and the gcloud command-line interface
  5. Disable versioning and observe how the lifecycle behavior changes

Note: Once you begin the lab, you will not be able to pause, save, or return to your lab. Please ensure that you have set aside enough time to complete the lab before you start.
