What you'll do

In this lab, you will manage branches in an Azure DevOps Git repository by using a trunk-based development approach.

  1. Create a new Azure DevOps Git repository and clone it to your development machine
  2. Create a short-lived feature branch
  3. Create an Azure Function application
  4. Implement a new feature in your code controlled by a feature flag
  5. Check in your code to the feature branch
  6. Merge your code to the main (master) branch
  7. Create a release branch for the release and push the branch to the remote
  8. Identify a bug in the release and fix it on the trunk
  9. Cherry-pick the bugfix from the trunk and add it to the release branch for deployment

Note: Once you begin the lab, you will not be able to pause, save, or return to your lab. Please ensure that you have set aside enough time to complete the lab before you start.
