What you'll do

In this lab, you will create and manipulate a map that counts items in a file.

  1. Declare a variable of type Map that contains keys of type String and values of type Integer
  2. Create an instance of the HashMap class
  3. Initialize the contents of the HashMap object by using a scanner
  4. Manipulate the contents of the map by using a while loop and an if-else statement
  5. Iterate over the map and display each element in the map
  6. Display the total number of elements that were defined in the file

Note: Once you begin the lab, you will not be able to pause, save, or exit and then return to your lab. Please ensure that you have set aside enough time to complete the lab before you start.
